About this course

Bitcoin and blockchain are not merely investment assets — they are a technological innovation that fundamentally redefines the concepts of money and trust. This course starts with the question "What is Bitcoin?" and guides you through intuitively understanding the core structure of blockchain, all the way to analyzing real on-chain data to read market trends. You will develop the ability to view the market through objective data recorded on the blockchain, rather than through news or rumors. The course is designed using the "Backward Design" principle, with each lesson structured around the final competency: "writing a market analysis report based on on-chain data." All technical terms are defined with everyday analogies upon first appearance, and difficulty is gradually increased following Bloom's Taxonomy (Remember → Understand → Apply). Core concepts (hash, transactions, consensus) are revisited and deepened in a spiral manner for natural internalization. This course is designed for complete beginners with no programming experience, investors who hold cryptocurrency but don't understand how it works, and non-majors preparing to enter the blockchain industry. Basic internet skills and a foundational ability to use spreadsheets (Google Sheets) are all that's required. Upon completing the course, you will be able to accurately explain how blockchain works, freely navigate block explorers and on-chain analysis tools, and independently write a research report analyzing Bitcoin market cycles using key indicators such as MVRV, NUPL, and hash rate.

Learning Outcomes

  • Accurately explain the core structure of Bitcoin and blockchain (blocks, hashes, consensus mechanisms) to a non-technical audience (Understand)
  • Use a block explorer to trace the flow of specific transactions and track the activity history of wallet addresses (Apply)
  • Distinguish between the UTXO model and the account model, and diagram the structure of a Bitcoin transaction (Understand)
  • Extract and visualize key metric data from on-chain analysis tools such as Glassnode and Dune Analytics (Apply)
  • Interpret the meaning of at least six on-chain indicators — including MVRV, NUPL, and realized price — and assess current market phases (Apply)
  • Comparatively analyze on-chain patterns across past Bitcoin market cycles (2013, 2017, and 2021) (Analyze)
  • Independently write a research report diagnosing the current state of the market based on on-chain data (Apply)
